I have to say I like London a lot better than little ol' Dublin. The Tube is a massively huge plus for it (Dublin's ONLY got buses, which are never on time, and the bus company has made one lane of every road devoted to only buses, which snarls up traffic). Not to mention London has a skyline, whee! Everyone likes a nice big skyscraper, right? Wrong, Dublin doesn't, even though a vast amount of the population are in favor of building high rise apartment and commercial buildings, and elitist few are trying to block it. Poo poo to them. Anyway, about living and working there, my father has to work there, he only comes back about every other weekend, which can be frustrating. Oh well, his apartment is better than staying in a hotel every time we go there. I really like Cambridge though, it's a perfect mix of everything (old and new) to make for an ideal area. But, oh well, I'm stuck here for another few years at least. To be honest, and I haven't told anyone else this, I dread the thought of spending the rest of my life living in Ireland. There's many ways to get out of it... but I'm not sure about my career or anything. It's frustrating being at a point in your life where you feel you have no options because there's so many... I don't know if that makes any sense though :) |
