Well, looks like things are back again :)

Yay! It seemed that every forum that I frequent had been shut down for tech repairs except FireHeart, which is nice, but the community is small.

Well it's Easter (technically, not anymore for me, missed it by 35 minutes heh.) and I had a pretty good day I must say. After Mass I drove with my dad to pick up my grandparents on the other side of town, and on the way had a nice little discussion, considering it seemed to be relelvant at the time I pointed out that if one looks at crusafixtion methods the ROmans used, the Crusafix statue in our church is technically incorrect (They didn't put the nails in his palms, they can't support the body's weight and would tear under the pressure. The wrists are more accurrate, though perhaps it was a mistranslation, oh and I'm sure yall already knew that, or you will all correct me on my mistakes :), so we chatted about that for a bit.

Then when the whole familly got together we went to a restaurant called "The Hungry Monk," why anyone in their right mind would call a restaurant that decidedly unappetising name I have no clue, but the restrooms were named "The Monestary" and "The Convent." Heh heh heh.

Anyway, the practice in Ireland (not too sure about Great Britain) is that all the popular candy manufacturers (Candy here is much much better than in America, there's no denying that) have special packages they start selling about a month before Easter. They vary in sizes and usually they cnsist of a chocolate egg about the size of a bulbous softball and two candy bars (they vary per package, like they have a Twix egg with 2 Twix bars and they have a Milky Way egg with 2 Milky Way bars).

Well I got greedy and ended up with 2 eggs, one normal sized Twix package, and one Malteasers package about twice the size of it :)

Malteasers are little marble sized chocolate balles with a honeycomb center, they are probaly more addictive than any illegal drug out there :)

So now I'm stuffed (No I didn't eat it ALL, though I'll probably be having chocolate for breakfast) and sitting here wondering why I just wrote an account of my day.

Perhaps I'm just writing it to put some substance into a post basically to say "I'm still here." Maybe I'm doing it as a service to Yanks to show what life is like in Europe from a Yank's point of view? After all, like the Great film Pulp Fiction says "The wierdest thing about Europe is the little differances."

As far as how I've been recently, I guess the best word is "busy," which I guarentee will subside. At the moment I'm on vacation (we get 2 weeks for Easter here) but after that is preparation for big exams in June, because the school system here bases everything on exams. What a load of bollocks (I'm using local slang! Oh no!)

As far as my emotional/mental state I've been alright, ups and downs. Mainly downs when I got my report card, considering it's the worst I've gotten in my life, I've always been a good student (on paper) except here. I know they'll say "Oh you can't make the excuse that you're American, you've been ehre 3 years!" so I haven't bothered putting that point forward. Personally I think it's the fact that I have no companionship. I've almost forgotten how nice it can be, sure being alone can be good to collect your thoughts, but being alone too much just causes one to lose faith in everything, AKA lonliness. I don't know anyone I'd call a "friend." My only real companion is my father, who comes every weekend (and not always every weekend.)

It must sounds more than a little pathetic is a 15 year old's only friend is his father. Oh, my grandfather (on my mother's side) isn't bad either.

Recently, I've been plagued by dreams of a life that feels so good it makes my own life feel even more unbearable when I return to it, but I'll save that for another post.

I hope I haven't bored anyone! :)

Best wishes,
Altima
