Dear Continental - I can relate in some ways to your experience of carrying others loads but yourself being weak inside. Part of why I have also been able to do this is because I became very hardened to emotions, having been disappointed so many times by relationships with boys that ultimately couldn't lead anywhere. I became to hardened that I stopped feeling, stopped being sensitive to things that most are sensitive to. I took others problems on because nothing could phase me, and I became much better at helping others than at helping myself. Jesus does not command us to die to ourselves because we have something specific to give. Indeed Jesus had NOTHING physical to give us, yet his simple desire to teach us, to convict us and to ultimately die for us changed so many lives forever. In John 15:5 Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." It is only through our reliance on God that we can help others. Otherwise, we are nothing more than a shell. You are not alone. Ben
