Where is the peace?

How many people find is SO hard to just be still before the Lord?

I was reading The Continental's post at :
/messages/13973.htm

And I was thinking about how nice it would be to go into a church sanctuary where it is quiet and peaceful. Where I could be still before the Lord and enjoy his presence. No church around me is like that. Catholic, Lutheran, or anything in between! All churches seem to have meetings all the time. Or if they don't have meetings, you need to go through security guards or locked doors to get it.

Since when is God's sancuary supposed to be locked? It's sad how we have to live through a day and age where we're afraid to leave our church doors unlocked.

But what about peace? In this day and age... where can we find peace?

I don't know about you, but I never find time to just sit before the Lord. I need some music playing. Or I need to be writting or typing my thoughts. Or if I actually wait a little bit to listen to the Lord, I fall asleep.

Have you ever had that type of friend where you do NOTHING with and it's so much more fun than if you were doing everything with? Can you think of a YF that loved to be just with you. It didn't matter if you took him to baseball games or the zoo. He didn't care if you played checkers or watched TV. You didn't need to talk or tell stroies. You could just BE. You could just exsist with each other. Sit with each other. Stand with each other. Hold hands. Look into each other's eyes. Didn't have to do anything. He could crawl up into your lap any time. Not do ANYTHING and you two had a WONDERFUL time. You could feel the warmth of his body. And that warmth meant more than any activity. More than any laugh or cry. Just knowing that you were loved and that you loved him?

So why can't we find time to do stuff like that? WIth our YFs? How about with our Lord? To walk hand in hand with him. To sit in HIS lap. To close our eyes and stare into the face of the Creator of the Universe? Hold onto EVER second of HIS love!

Happy pondering.
