Some disagreement, IMHO :-)

By the way, I'm not a Christian, I'm agnostic, but first I'd like to say that if you believe in God, and if Martin didn't choose his attractions himself, then he must assume God made him that way, as you say.

That much certainley sounds logical.

IMHO, though, by indulging in solitary sexual activity, Martin is indulging himself in desires for boys which he does not wish to have, which he wants other people to free him of.

See his remark: "I went to ministries to try to be freed of all this stuff, and they did help. Went to shrinks and therapists (for 13 years now - almost continually), pleading with them to help me not fall in love with every boy I saw on the street, on TV (Oh, Leonardo, Dawson's Ck, swimming at the Olympics, ads with gorgeous young Adonises, . . .)"

IMHO, since engaging in fantasy behaviour may interfere with dealing with reality, (unless the fantasy is a realistic proposition) I'd recommend that he stops indulging himself, and seek what he really needs instead:-
To stay away from temptation as much as he posssibley can.

An interesting point here, worthy of note, is that Martin has never allowed himself to even *feel* anything similar with his own 12 and 16 year old boys:- "And now here I am, husband, father of 3 kids, (17, 16 & 12 - the two younger ones boys, who THANK GOD I have never ever allowed myself to even have a suggestion of that sort of feeling towards them)."

It sounds to me as if Martin is actually quite capable of managing his feelings - although obviously, this won't be easy.

I'm not too sure what to say about the possible role of Jesus in this,
other than mumble something indistinctly about mustard-seeds, faith, and moving mountains, as a sort of a vague suggestion, I'm afraid.
