For Baal

Dear Baal,

I wrote this at home before comming to the library to post it. I have read your dialogue with Splash! and I am not sure now that what I wanted to tell you will be relevant to you. However, I believe God is behind my words, so I will put it here for you and see what you think. Here is my message to you:

I heard about your prayer, Baal (and I have also read it...) and I know that some folks here were pretty discusted with it. I respect thier opinions and from what I have read I agree that it is probably...um...less than tastefull. However, I would like to offer you a differant perspective.

The God to whom you offered that prayer, our most beloved and Holy Father, DOES hear all prayers. And while you may have perhaps offered your's as a joke (maybe not...I don't know), God DID hear it and He knows your heart, your pain, possably your loneliness, all of your needs and longing for love. This might supprise you but He does care very much about you and how you feel. He loves you, Baal, and he has answered your prayer.

God has given you a boy to love and hold dear. That boy is very real and will love you with all of his gracious heart. This boy isn't satisfied with mere sexual love, he goes much deeper than that. When he embraces you, his love will consume every part of you and you will know fulfillment. This boy will indeed fill any gap in your life you may have and will definately not leave you wanting for anything. I can say this because has done this for me, and continues to do so every day of my life.

I am speaking about the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He was a real person, Baal, fully human and fully God. He did not come to us as we would expect our creator and God to come; in all majesty and power descending from Heaven with a host of Angels. Instead, out of His deep love and respect for every single person who will ever live, He chose to come to this world the same way we all do...as a child.

In the Gospel of John the very first chapter gives what I consider to be the most beautiful description of this unprecidented event in the history of mankind. It refers to the Son of God and man as "The Word".

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men."
"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:1-4 and 1:14.

God loves us so very much that He became a child. Born of a woman but concieved by God, He chose to enter this world in the most humble way possible so that everyone can relate to Him in a very real and personal way. Although most Christians do not often picture God as a young boy, the Gospels confirm that He was indeed and a beautiful one at that. In Luke it says,"And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him." (Luke 1:40)

The boy that God has given us is our savior and His love is complete. It will change your life forever in all ways that are good. Jesus grew to become a man, as all boys do, but since I have come to know Him, I now see Him in every boy. Part of God exists in every person but it is so evident in the eyes of a child. That is because His love has entered every part and inch of my heart and life!

God wants so much to fill you with this love, Baal, and all you have to do is ask Him to enter your life. I know you wrote in your reply to Splash that you have a Christian background but from the rest of your post I do not think that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I want you to know that He loves you greatly and wants more than anything else to be part of your life! He will not take away from your life but will GIVE you the gift of abundant and eternal life. And you will know fulfillment because God will count you as His child, His Son.

"Yet to all who recieve Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)

It is my hope and prayer that you will decide to accept this boy into your heart and life because I know how great a relationship with him can be and how it can flow through every other relationship in your life. Besides, I would love to know that I have yet another brother in Christ. You see, in a very real way, God IS the God of Boylovers too!

With Love in Jesus Christ,
Chris
