After you tell us not to feed our thought life, then you post a pic of a shirtless boy! :-) Hi Ben, it's been a long time! Welcome back. I hope you'll be able to be active here.

I would agree that interacting with boys in a positive way is much more healthy than fantasizing about them. It's more helpful to them, and more satisfying for us.

For me at least, I don't think fantasizing is meeting some subconscious need or lack. I think it's just the human sex drive. Certainly it increases when I'm idle, and decreases when I'm involved in some rewarding activity. (I assume that's true for straight people too.) However, even if I were truly satisfied with life, I'd still fantasize about boys because I am a sexual person, just like everyone else.

I think we too often assume that sexual feelings are somehow pathological. This is not to deny that in some cases, these thoughts can become too consuming. At times (regardless of our orientation) they may even become addictive, and we need to take special action. Finding creative, fulfilling things to do is certainly one solution. And I know that Huck is good at having rewarding positive interactions with boys.
