The biblical pattern for evangelism includes incorporation of the new convert into the church that did the evangelism in the first place - the split that we seem to end up with is inherently unhealthy, though somewhat inevitable given the mobile nature of modern society. So the natural people to be your church are the ones by whom you became a Christian; it is only if they throw you out does the responsibility fall on you to hunt out a new church. Which probably doesn't help in your circumstances.... My own church stuck with me when the crisis over being a BL struck - for which they deserve a lot of credit; it was a brave thing to do, though as it wasn't public, there wasn't that issue for them, so I've never had to deal with that problem.
