Hi J,

I really like your nick without the "Lonely" in front of it.

I think God must lead people like us to the same places of encouragement in both His word and our lives. The story of Joseph was of great help to me also while I was encarcerated. I also grew very close to the Apostle Paul through the book of Acts and all of his extensive writing in the New Testiment.

I have also attemted suicide a few times in my life, of course it was durring the very worst periods of depression. And I too can testify that it was God who saved me from making such a terrible mistake. AND, I did go through a period much like the one you have described as "deep sadness". In fact, it wasn't that long ago that I suffered with that. But I think I might have a message of hope for you, J.

Like I said before, most of the credit for my better state of mind must go to God, who accomplished it through some very wonderful people that I have come to know and love. Brothers in Christ I have met right here at CBLF! There was also a local Pastor involved with me and I do have some friends where I live who have all been of great help and support also. But for me, the best part of that help came from some very sound advice.

I am person who, when depressed, tends to isolate and just kind of "hole-up" in my house (or, in my case, a motel room..). I won't go outside and I usually begin to feel very parinoid. But when I do get out and around people, the sadness (or depression-when it's really bad) always lifts and I feel great. So, that is why I decided to take a job at a Supermarket. I love it because I am around all kinds of people in a nice, brightly-lit store and I can just smile away and get smiles back. And, of course, I can also be around boys a lot too....that's been really nice as well but scarry at first because of my legal problems.

Anyway, I just wanted to tell you to just hang in there and know that there is indeed light at the end of your tunnel, no matter how dark it looks now. And keep coming back here as well, ok? We love you and I know that you will find help and support here. I know because I certainly have!

Love in Jesus Christ,
Chris
