I found what was written very interesting. But I don't see how this guy is going to be able to get around the parts in the Bible that says Homosexual sexual activity is wrong. If I'm misinterpreting my Bible, I'd be happy to hear from other points of view. But it seems pretty clear to me. And we can't choose which parts of the Bible are convenient and which aren't in regards to what our guide should be.

Although I think the Bible teaches that homosexual sex is a sin, I don't believe it's an unpardonable sin. I don't agree with people that treat practicing homosexuals as if they are damned to hell, but accept, or at least look the other way, when it comes to heterosexual sex outside marriage.

One thing that this guy said that disurbed me was that he didn't think God would expect a gay man to live in celebacy. I have a problem with people who say they know what God wants, especially when it's contrary to the Bible. When this guy is on his sabbatical, rethinking his position, I think he should also consider if he would allow pedophiles the same sexual freedom he proposes to give gays. After all, pedophiles did not choose their sexual orientation either. So if he believes God would not expect gays to be celebate, then logically, God must not expect us to be celebate either. So under his rules, I could go out, fall in love with a willing boy, and commit to a monogomous sexual relationship with him; all with God's blessing. I don't think so.
