but it is a bit unfair to be shot at by non-Christians who don't share our basic beliefs.

We have a gospel to proclaim, good news for all the world

was a hymn I was bought up on. I doubt the Christian gospel has ever been wildly popular; certainly Wesley and Booth (founder of the Salvation Army) didn't have an easy time of it.

The article linked below is perhaps one of the most challenging and striking articles I've read for a long time - have a read of that before we return to the fray..... CSWG is a conservative Anglican order of monks.
