It sounded before like you were saying that people need to have a relationship with the Christian God - and that that relationship will determine the kind of life they need to lead. That sounds quite acceptable and barely objectionable. But now you are back to saying that a preacher ought to tell people how to live and how not to live. Not only do I find that objectionable - for plenty of terrible, historic reasons - I actually find it downright offensive. Because one of the biggest gripes I have against Christianity is the preachers who work to force their personal morality on others - particualrly on society at large. Jules version of Christianity I can understand and even relate to a little. Yours just seems judegemental and evil. |
