OK, now it makes sense to me how the word malakoi could get translated with such wide variation. It seems apparent that it had a rather broad usage, which was probably made more distinct to a Greek by its context. Sort of like the word "fruitloop" - it could mean strange, silly, homosexual. It all depends on how you use it. Well, this has been an interesting discussion. These are things that just don't get taught at my church! Anyway, I am satisfied that while malakoi my have had some conotations implying homosexual behavior, it obviously was NOT a reference to a pedarastic relationship - which was my original question, I think.
