Hi John, I'm glad that you came by. Politics is rarely a topic of discussion here (Jesus rarely discussed politics other than to say, "Give to Cesar what is Cesar's"). At the risk of crossing this line, I would offer some insight that another offered me, after hearing a rather lengthly sermon opposing any strikes against foreign countries. The insight is that there are MILLIONS of people, women, children, families, who are prevented from having basic human rights because of rogue regimes. Furthermore, there are many more millions who are prevented from hearing the gospel or from pursuing its message because of religious oppression in their countries. As bitter as I can sometimes get against America, I do remind myself that we hold, above all else, that all people should be free to believe, to pursue and to have peace. No other empire in the world has so consistently fought for that freedom. You are not alone. Ben |
