the desire to get to know boys

Hey, I have a question. When you get involved in a boy's life, does your desire to build relationships with other boys go away? I have found that my desire to get to know other boys has gone down a lot since I have been involved in Kenny's life. Is this common or normal?

By the way, Kenny told me something yesterday that I thought was pretty cool. He said that I was his second best friend in the world. You know why that's cool? Because he didn't say that I was his best friend. You know why that's cool? I guess I thought it was cool because many kids get caught up in that hero-worship thing, where they think that you are the coolest person in the world just because you are an adult. You know that response that kids give you sometimes? I guess that he thought it through and decided that he likes me for who I am, not just because I am an adult. It seemed to me that it went beyond the adult hero worship concept. Does that make sense? I think it meant more that I was his second best friend instead of his first best friend. Not sure if it made sense or not. . .

Anyway, I just wanted to share that.
