.....diplomacy ain't my strong suit. I'm a warrior, not a diplomat. I can understand that calm rational debate has it's place. This is one of those situations where i won't necessarily work, though. At least not in my eyes. I will also tell ya that I gotta temper. Always have had but I'm workin' on it. Hell, I ain't even 18 yet. When someone questions the moality of my love for DC and how I express it, not to mention come right out and says I'll burn in hell 'cuz we express that love physically, I take it as a personal attack against me, my relationship, everythan that I believe is good and right for MY life. See, I live in the inner city, the 'hood if ya will. Where I come from when you attacked or even THINK you been ttacked you don't respond with rational debate. You respond with a fist in the mouth. To do ortherwise gets you tagged as a punk or worse. Now admittedly this ain't the 'hood, but the ghetto mentality you grow up with around here is hard to shake. I mean I believe in God, too. Same one you do, we just call him a different name. And yes, Islam in some sects is extremely homophobic. Yet in others quite tolerated. In the Arab world where Islam came from there is a strong, albeit "hidden" tradition of gay and BL relationships. Some peeps I attend the mosque with know about me and don't care. But I wouldn't walk up to Rev Farrakhan and say, "Hi I'm Rahiim. I'm gay and I have a 14 y/o boyfriend. " But Islam is different than Christianity in the respect that it doesnt have the "turn the other cheek" philosophy. If someone hits you, you hit 'em back and harder, too. But I've read and heard of so many gay kids gettin' harassed and stracized by people ho use Christianity to justify their hatred. Shit like this makes gay kids be one of the higher statistics when it comes to teen age suicide. Homophobia in my book needs to be cha;lenged, as bluntly and stridently as possible, 'cuz thanks to that attitude that "God says its wrong" certain morons feel justified in beatin' to death a Matthew Sheppard. And then another alleged Christian named Fred Phelps can actually show up at this kid's funeral and scream through a bullhorn at the mourners and his surviving family how Matthew is burnin' in Hell 'cuz he was a "Godless homo." Yeah, I DO go to that idiot's godhatesfags.com sire to spam his message board and use up his bandwidth that he pays for. Yes I cuss my lungs out on his board 'cuz a cretin like him,while he may have a riht to think what he does, ain't got the right to encourage hate in my book. I'm also Black in case ya didn't know so I feel te same way about the KKK or White Supremacists. Sure, Dabvid Duke may have a ight to speak his bullshit at a public Klan rally, but so do the bruh with baseball bats have a right to express their views by beatin' I him and his henchmen up a li'l. You reap what'chu sow I will oppose hate anywhere. The thang is, most of these idiots ho hate like that or let a book do their thinkin' for 'em are too stupid to be swayed by rational debate.
