Ben,

I understand your argument that we shouldn't justify sinful behavior, but what really struck me in your post was when you said:

Jesus was well aware of the Roman tendency for pedaresty, yet his focus was on the Centurion's FAITH, not his lifestyle.

I seem to be coming across this idea a lot lately -- that God looks at our faith more than anything, whether we be liars, murderers, fornicators, whatever. Look at Romans 9. In addition, there's at least another two dozen verses that say we are saved (or made righteous) by faith.

So, even though we continue to live sinful lifestyles, isn't it possible that God will focus on our faith and still accept us into His Kingdom no matter what we do?

Of course, then there's the argument that our faith is shown by its fruit (our works), and if we continue to knowingly sin then we must not have much faith. ??
