People, even Muslims, confuse what the concept of the jihad is. It ain't about gettin' revenge for the 8 Crusades or flyin' airliners into skyscrapers.

The concept of jihad as I understand it means the constant internal war between what is holy inside of you, i.e. your spiriyuality and relation to Allah; and the not so holy temporal world. It's similar to the Christian concept of resisting temptations. Its the constant struggle within' yo'self to become more perfect in His eyes. THAT is what the jihad is. That's what we all do no matter what we call it.

As for my story, I've told it on BC before, I'll hafta find the link of my response to Forgiven there the other day, but the Cliff's Notes version is this. When I was 13 I had a lotta problems and issues I was dealin' with in the wake of my daddy's leavin' us and runnin' off with his girlfriend to Buffalo. I asked for advice and support from the pastor of the Baptist church I then attended. What I got instead was preached to about "the evils of homosexuality" because of the "stories" he had heard about me. I left Christianity that day when I ran from the church in tears. Thanks to the study of Malsolm's writings, hering the eloquence of Louis Farrakhan on TV, and the mind-probin' discussions wityh a wonderful bruh named Luqmaan I became of Islam. That was 4 years ago and I still have so MUCH to learn. I wanna learn Arabic so I can read the Qur'an in its own language among other thangs. BTW, I'm NOI. (We the ones in the bowties, hehehe.)

Salaam, bro,

'Hiim
