when I stuck your phrase into Copernic and came up with http://essenes.crosswinds.net/chrono.htm which is a line that clearly rejects the mainstream views of Christianity. I'm out of my depth here; I will affirm that you are barking up the wrong tree, and that the whole Gnostic thing is a big mistake, but I don't have the knowledge to argue the point. But let's just define some radical differences: 1) Christianity believes in the continuing existance of the consciousness as an individual in the afterlife 2) We believe that our sin is what seperates us from God, and it is Jesus' death that allows us to spend eternity with God 3) We reject reincarnation - you'll be judged by God on your response to him during this life. Have a look at Colossians cpt 2 v8-15. That is an elegant short statement of the Christian faith. And the whole of Romans - if you read it straight through - gives it in further detail. I must admit I'm stuck here to argue any further; but I do want to reaffirm that this isn't in line with the Christian position..... |
