' A Sexual component'

ah - ok - that's a far broader statement and I entirely agree. We now get into a VERY messy swamp of what is an expression of one's sexuality, and what is not. And then there is the issue of what is 'legitimate' in that whole context, and what is not; what I'm not prepared to do is to go down the route that says that because an element of relationship between men and boys is sexual, therefore it is ok for it to be expressed 'in bed', which appears to be what you are saying. But I agree that is a completely different argument to the one that is usually being reflected by the media.

This also generates a completely seperate thought: given there is always a sexual component to the man / boy relationship, then the fact that voluntary organisations that work with children these days have such difficulty recruiting may partly be because possible volunteers recognise the sexual component in their response, assume they are therefore a risk to the children and so don't continue to volunteer. And that is a tragedy.

Thanks for providing the extra step in the argument that I missed; it does provide a very different perspective on the whole debate - and indicate the degree to which there is a major problem with modern society. Very challenging.
