When asked what could possibly be harmful about such a relationship, your answer is this: It's too easy for adults to manipulate the relationship into something they want -- perhaps even making the minor believe he wants it too. How do we know this isn't being done? However, that doesn't answer the question. That VERY EFFECTIVELY answers the question of whether it should be legal or not for adults to be sexual with very young children, but is doesn't address anything that has to do with invidivual circumstances. Can something be "acceptible" while still being "illegal"? Absolutely, empathically YES. And this is a case where individual cirucumstances may dictate that moral decision. If you think that your code of ethics binds you to following the law of your culture, then so be it. Wolfie |
