Hi Sally,

I'm glad that you are sticking around and discussing these issues. I think that this interaction is very beneficial for us. We don't get too many visitors. :-)

You said:
You are determined not to have sex with the boys then why do you need to talk about it at all.

And then a bit further down:
I have learned to not trust myself and my own strength so much. I have learned that I am capable of great evil.

I think that the reason BLs tend to want support is that they cannot discuss it with Christians within their own communities. I *have* taken the step to set up a Christian Support Circle with members of my denomination and they have dialogued and shared with me. They have asked some of the same questions as you have...

But for most people at this website, it is a prospect far too scary to imagine. Telling others of this attraction is nearly suicidal. Many have lost life as they know it...

Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
2 Corinthians 4:1-2

Rather than find comfort in sin, I believe that people at CBF are finding a place where they can be completely truthful before God and before a Christian community. If more non-BL Christians were to take part in this community, making themselves vunerable as BLs are vunerable, and as you yourself have made yourself approachable and vunerable, then I think we have the potential to do God's work.

We all find comfort in our sin. But the way to fight that is to hold up Christ as the one who died to set the prisoner free, not blame society. How does one properly encourage them except to say, "Jesus died for sinners. Repent and lay your burdens down." If they are not sinners then they need no saving. And Jesus died for nothing... if we are all such nice people...

We are not nice people, and we do sin. I don't think there's anything in our mission statement saying that we are angels. Perhaps we are not as obviously repentent as you would wish... but of course the participants here represent a wide range of Christian faith traditions... from most liberal to most conservative. So not everyone expresses things in the language you would prefer.

I think you are right in assuming that BLs too often blame society for their problems. While society is a roadblock to understanding, true understanding can come from faith in God and the Word of God, along with the Christian community. But sometimes the Christian community is a roadblock itself.

I would urge you to marry and have kids. That is God's plan for men who don't want to be celibate.
I must say with certainty that this is not God's plan for me. If I were to marry a woman without any sexual attraction to her, that would be a lie to myself, God and my spouse. Not a pretty picture.

Peace of Christ,
Bach
