Hi Jules,
Thanks for your interest here. We definately have officially been 'going steady' (to use an outdated term) for over a year now. There is no question that we are boyfriend and girlfriend. As for sex, there has been none whatsoever, as we both consider sex outside marriage to be sinful. We kiss as a greeting and hold hands but that is about it. Certainly, such restraint is far easier for me than for her, but to live or sleep together would most definately be frowned upon by the church (1 Cor 5:18).

I do find other women more attractive than she and, in most cases, they are younger than I am (I am also in my mid thirties). This being said, they can't hold a candle to a beautiful boy so I'm not sure if it makes a difference anyway.

As for marrying and not having sex, I believe that it is my marital duty to satisfy my wife. I cannot justify marriage without sex, at least with a devout Christian woman. There is no biblical basis for this.

So, I hope that answers your questions. I do love her as a friend, but I can't possibly see how I would be able to sleep with her. Past attempts to sleep with women have basically failed.

You are not alone.

Love,
Ben
