Billy, I remember once telling my sister that I didn't want anything to do with Christianity because of all the hypocrites who called themselves Christians. She said, "Well, yes, Sally, there are hypocrites but just because they are hypocrites doesn't relieve you of your duty before God." That makes sense to me. When I die I don't think God is going to ask me about all the hypocritical Christians in the world. I think he'll ask me about my own hypocrisy and hatred and ugliness. If Christ has not shed his blood to cover my sins then I am lost. And if he has then I am able to forgive-- even the hypocrites-- as he has forgiven me. sally paraklesis.com |
