If so, why do you claim to have a corner on absolute truth?

Maybe for some of the same reasons you're skeptical of it? We go through life learning along the way, and finding certain things to be true for us. When I started digging into the Bible and living my life according to it, I found a lot of it to be true for my life -- and I started to believe in it. Then my life started to change. So I believed in it more. When I researched evolution, I found it more hard to believe than creationism, especially after experiencing a personal God in my life. Many of my prayers got answered, including prayers for healing where a pain or sickness would immediately disappear. I committed my life more and more to Jesus. Then when I prayed for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I received it in a very powerful and supernatural way. God is real. Since then, I've been able to use spiritual gifts. In addition, my mother has seen angels (messenger and warrior) five different times in the last 30 years. She rarely talks about those experiences, but when she does she is very serious about what happened. So because of all these things, I know a spiritual world exists. And I know God is real. And I know there is one God -- He's always the same, and He works in all the ways the Bible says He does. This is why I believe. I don't expect anyone to believe in God because of my experiences, but I believe they will find Him simply by seeking to know what is true. Those who seek with their whole heart will find. And this is why I feel sorry that Einstein didn't get past the point of rationalizing about the existence of God to the point of experiencing the existence of God. Yes, Einstein said he believed in God, but did he know Him? Salvation does not come from believing in God (even demons believe in Him); salvation comes through knowing God.
