Hi innocence, Scholars are not agreed on the exact meaning of the two Greek words malakoi and arsenokoitai often translated 'homosexual' in 1 Cor. 6:10. But one thing they agree on is that it doesn't mean homosexual in orientation in the way we understand orientation these days. Rather it refers to some lifestyle choice or another. 1 Cor. 6:11 means that some of them used to live in that lifestyle, and no longer do. It says nothing about orientation. Look at the other characteristics listed (idolaters, adulterers, thieves, drunkards, etc.) and you'll see that they are all about lifestyle, not about tendencies. So there's no way that anyone can claim you're not a Christian because of your sexual orientation. It's simply not biblical. With Christian love, Jules |
