Hi Ben,

I'd agree with what Ford says, and I'd also say if you're not sure if your motivation is right or not, try praying when you're with boys. I don't mean formal praying, but just in your mind say "Lord, these boys are beautiful, thank you for their beauty!" If you do that often enough it will sort you out one way or the other; either you won't be able to pray it honestly and you'll find greater strength to stop looking for them; or alternatively you'll discover that God doesn't mind, and you'll stop worrying about it. I rather hope you find the second to be the case :-)

You still seem to be talking about something being "wrong" in the abstract sense, just because you think God "disapproves", but I don't think that's the way God wants us to be; he wants us to relate to him and only feel guilty about things we know he doesn't like. Wasn't it St Augustine who said "Love God and do as you then like." (Not "Love God and do as you like." - the "then" is important.) If you're ruled by a fear of doing wrong, you have to ask yourself where that fear comes from; is it from a right understanding of God or from a wrong understanding?

With Christian love,

Jules
