Romeo's beloved. Yes, that's Rosaline, not Juliet. "Romeo and Juliet" starts with Romeo hopelessly in love with Rosaline. Fickle teenage lover that he is, he lays eyes on some chick called Juliet, and in an instant forgets all about the girl he previously could not live without. My point is you should keep in mind what it means when you say a 13yo is falling in love with you. He might adore you today. Tomorrow he'll lay eyes on some girl and his every waking thought will be of her. (oh, you'll be a fond memory and an appreciated friend, I'm sure, don't despair!) Use that knowledge to help you understand how to set and respect boundaries with him. Enjoy the moment of affection with him. But don't take it too seriously. If he still can't take his eyes off you in five years time, then you'll have something to worry about... ;) Fod |
