the reason i posted my comment is because i usually have to use public terminals. and in britain's main chain of internet cafes they have an extremely irritating obscentity filter which has previously even blocked access to christianbl and other (legal) pedo-forums. it seems arbitrary and capricious in the way it works. i assume it gets triggered by keywords and/or combinations of words. at any rate, the block on some pedo forums was on for about a month but has now been lifted (temporarily?) personally i've no objection to pornographic visual images being banned (tho' some civil libertarians might object even to that restriction) but i've found access barred to reputable academic sites - presumably because they contain forbidden words. |
