I think many tend to view this relationship, just like David and Jonathans relationship and Naomi and Ruth's relationship through a 21st centry homsexual view point. I agree. I think this might be a big part of the problem. Our world today is over-sexualized. Our media is filled with constant sexual references and euphenisms. We can't get away from it. I think this has led us to look at many things (including people in the Bible) through a sexual lens. ("We see through a glass darkly..."). In addition, we are always looking for ways to justify our own beliefs or actions. We need to be very careful with how far we take speculation. Splash |
