If this is any help. I decided to remain celibate after my marriage failed. I did not engage in any sexual activity for six years and then failed six times in the next 12 months. I have asked God to forgive me because of the sacrifice of Jesus for the sins of the whole world, including mine. I still carried the guilt and shame for quite a while until a Christian friend said to me one day - when are you going to forgive yourself!!
I decided to forgive myself. I also had to face the reality of living with an old nature and a new nature. The old nature is totally corrupt and capable of any evil. The new nature only grows as I stay close to God and submit to Him. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. My new life comes from Him not from my efforts to win against sin.
Accept His forgiveness and forgive yourself. His love for us is constant and eternal, but he hates the sin which separates us from Him.
I hope this helps because it is born from similar experiences not from theory.
May you find release from the shame and guilt.
