I agree with hopealive, Masturbation isn't a sin and like James Dobson of "Focus on the family" said a few years ago; "I don't believe a loving God would put a raging fire in an immature kid and then damn him for doing what he can't help doing"

My personal opinion is that, many teenage boys are "touch deprived", partly because of their fear and other people's fear of being labeled "gay" and find masturbation a temporary comfort and release from their feelings of isolation. That was certainly true of myself as a teenager.
I don't believe masturbation is a sin and I don't believe that God condemns us for it. So if you find the need to masturbate, then accept it as a normal part of your being.

It is normal for boys to have lustful (horny) thoughts come into their head. So don't feel guilty about the thoughts and desires you may or may not have, the thoughts aren't the problem. It is not sinful to have fleeting erotic thoughts or temptations, it's what you do with those thought and temptations that has the potential to lead to sin.

I remember when I was in my teens, masturbation was a real issue for me, it actually developed into a genuine compulsion and I found it litterly impossible to stop. I remember we use to joke about jerking off saying that, if you wank more then three times a week, your penis will drop off! :-) Of course that isn't true, but it did lead me to wonder, how much is too much? I don't know how much is too much and I don't think there is any scientific or medical data saying that a certain amount of masturbation is too much. The way I see it is that, its a balancing act for every male. Every boy has fantasies and lusts and will explore the connection between these, their sexual nature and masturbation.
I think its fair to say that most boys (including Christians) find masturbation absolutely uncontrollable (I know I certainly did). I remember feeling that I had sinned and then would ask God to forgive me and promise not to do it again. Although, Sooner or later, the accumulating hormonal pressure become so powerful that I was unable to keep my promise to God.

What do you say to God on the 500th time that you have failed to live up to your promise to stop?

The whole principle of Christianity is that God sees us perfect because of what Jesus did for us, provided we accept Jesus' sacrifice as our only means of getting to heaven. This means that it is not WHAT we do that makes us right with God, but rather our acceptance of Jesus that makes us right with God. It is not how we feel about ourselves that makes us right with God, rather it is trusting in His word that we are right with God because of our acceptance of Jesus.

This means that masturbating does not affect our standing with God, rather it has nothing to do with it because we are right with God because of Jesus.

If you feel like your masturbation is a sin, then tell God that you are sorry and keep your heart right with Him. Don't try making promises that you will never do it again because it is almost impossible to keep them. (almost like promising you will never go to the toilet again!) If you keep making promises you will only feel condemned and bad about yourself. It is difficult for quite a lot of teenagers to accept their sexual nature and to become comfortable with this new side of their being.
God sees us as pure and clean when we come to Him like this. God just wants to love you and have you love Him! This is His highest priority! He is not looking down from heaven waiting for you to masturbate again! It is apparently of very little (if any) real interest to Him! All He sees is the cleansed you - because of Jesus' sacrifice of dying on the cross and spilling His blood for us all.

So to finish up this "journal of mine" LOL! Let me just say, try not to worry about it and don't cut yourself up over it. God loves you as you are, he doesn't care if you masturbate or not (I don't think he does anyway)and if you feel guilty for whatever reason, just tell god and ask him to forgive you. If you end up masturbating again, don't hate yourself for it, because God doesn't!

I think I got a little carried away with this one, sorry (I hope you like reading :-) LOL!)
