In the early days, I've seen many yf's grow into teenagers & young men. Having seen DX grow from a vunerable 11yo into a strong 15yo hasn't weakened my heartfelt love for him, it's actually made it stronger. Also if I've met a yf or just some men I knew as kids, they always great me with a huge smile & say "Mfox, do you remember me?? I was that small kid, you used to speak to at (wherever)"...etc. And they proceed to tell me whats happened to them since. One recently became a security guard, after his soccor career ended due to injury & I shared his anger at the trainer (who's son I also became close to), had cast him aside when the injury occured, even though it was the trainers fault that the injury happened. He told my friend "you'll never play for this club again". Another former yf, still asks about me today. Whenever he sees my dad in the street, he always says "how Mfox, I haven't seen him for years". This particular kid was a chubby 12yo, a boy who didn't have many friends & had a bad attitude. He was a friend of my first real yf, who I'd seen grow up from a baby when i was 13. I used to spend a lot of spare time with this kid, I got him into my adult soccor team, but he only lasted 15 mins in the match, he let in two quick goals & was substituted to save the team from further problems (he was only 14 at the time). When I last saw him, he was a thin bearded 19yo, he greated me with such joy in his voice & immediatly gave me a huge hug & told me how great it was to see me again. But maybe my attraction to him had lessened over the years, but I was still pleased to see him. All the best MF72 |
