You are right that I was looking at it from the perspective of the man introducing sex. But my opinion is the same even if the boy is the one who initiates it. First of all, there is the possibility that the boy has picked up on the fact that the man is sexually attracted to him and wants to please him because of the love he feels for the man. But even if the boy truly wants it to happen for his own wants and needs, it still may end up harming him in the long run. If this boy is in puberty, he is trying to deal with strong urges and feelings that he doesn't fully understand yet. Even if he does indeed fully understand things and is not harmed by such activity, the question of what benefit is it to the boy is still very valid. As much as I would like to believe there could be a situation where it is mutually beneficial for both man and boy, I can only see physical pleasure as the benefit to the boy. And while I'm certainly not against physical pleasure for it's own sake, is it really enough of a reason to risk emotional harm, possibly for the rest of his life? Sex between partners can be an important part of a close relationship such as in marriages. But man and boy are not married partners and the relationship isn't anywhere near the same. A marriage type relationship is on equal terms. A man/boy relationship is generally a mentor/friendship relationship. If you want to see how different that is, try to imagine a man trying to mentor his wife. It wouldn't work. So in my opinion, sex just blurs the relationship between man and boy. The closeness that might be sought is not only possible, but easier without becoming sexual partners.
