I have just finished reading this one while on a weekend in a caravan. I found it an excellent and disturbing book. I hate nasty things happening to kids, and the way Ender is treated could well be termed nasty. The book has little hints of boy-boy and even maybe man-boy love but is nowhere explicitly explored. My suspicion from having been in boarding school as a boy is that a lot of "exploration" and so on would have actually taken place in the training place - maybe between older and younger boys. Anyway, that apart I highly recommend it - shame our local library doesnt have any of his books and I will have to borrow them from other libraries at 60p each! Bill |
