The only comparison I can draw after watching all the cases is to Charlie Manson. How one can drive another one to kill. It's not an exact parallel, however. Derek is obviously a troubled young man, and it probably took very little to convince him to do this. Alex, I believe was simply taken advantage of. Chavis' selfishly manipulated that boy into his own personal lover, and convinced him that his father didn't love him. Not that I think Terry was a model father, but I see little evidence of physical abuse. When Alexs biggest complaint was "starring him down", I wonder how much Chavis had to work on that one in order for Alex to think it was abuse. I think Chavis should be charged in a civil case as the responsible party for causing the murder. He obviously should be tried for sexual abuse and child endangerment (drug use). Also, possibly, cover up of the crime. |
