Okay, in honesty, I've met a couple others... and I think I've even met one who serves two masters without betraying the one I have regard for; without stooping to condemnation in assertion of their own, 'Christian' superiority. ::HUG:: Thank you. Still smoking, as I am, from my last confrontation with the keepers of The Rules, I have begun to wonder if we don't too quickly parrot the injunctions which were told to us without first checking whether such could have possibly been the intention of The Maker. What do you think? I think that love is from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God (1 John 4:7 - I also believe 1 John 4:20, but my handle aside, I find it helps not to focus on that side of things). I believe that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free - and we are not to subject ourselves to a yoke of slavery. (Gal. 5:1) I believe that the whole law is fulfilled thus : you shall love your fellow being as yourself. (Gal 5:14) I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; (Rom 14:14) whatsoever a person might do, do it - to the glory of God. (1 Cor 10:31). (here, the avid reader might note that I have not yet even begun to get to that heresy spoken directly by Jesus himself, who spent his time with harlots, samaritans, and the like, condemned the hell (hopefully) out of the 'respectable priesthood', telling them, among other things, to learn the meaning of "I desire compassion, and not sacrifice' (Matt 9:13), proclaimed that children were the greatest amongst heaven (Matt 18:1-5), and that the kingdom of heaven is theirs (Matt 19:13-5) (ahh, a pedophile God, what a blessed world this... if my faith in the goodness of God had not been elsewise restored, that would have done it quite nicely). and - heresy of heresies - said we are gods! (John 10:34) Tell me THAT wouldn't get a person lynched if they asserted it in a church). I'd have to say - I rather think you're right. :) What I more fear, however, is the query of whom such would serve - and by this, wittingly or unwittingly, whom most who call themselves christian serve, and by this, what most of those who rebel against christianity war against... ...err, I meant to write a few more pages, as regard your query, and while I'm at it - sorry for boring you this long. Unfortunately, my browser's pretty much crashed, and I've got to pass out now. Thank you for putting God before man. |
