On The Lighter Side of Life

Hi Y'all, When things get a little too serious in my life, I often thank God that, in His great wisdom and love, He gave us all a sense of humor. I'm absolutely convinced that He has a terrific sense of humor Himself. (Remember now, we are all created in His image....that includes humor!) Andy called me on the phone yesterday to tell me about a cool t.v. show that was on and I shouldn't miss. It was about the life of Bill Cosby and The Cosby Show, on A&E I think. (It was a cool show, by the way. He and I love Bill Cosby, but that's another story...) Anyway, he dropped a bomb of a question on me and I am very sad to say that I felt as low as an ant when I answered him. You see folks, for those of you who don't know me very well yet, one of the things I love, besides God, is music; and my favorite kind of music is The Blues. Not only do I love this music, I love to play it (on guitar), and I love the many terrific musicians who have kept it alive to this day. One man in particular is a huge favorite of mine, and I am SO grateful that he is still very much alive and playing today. That man is none other than B.B. King, who just celibrated a birthday Monday. And guess how I know about his birthday...... My good buddy Andy told me about it on the phone durring our conversation yesterday! The phone got pretty quiet for a moment because I suddenly realised that I had totally missed it. That's righhhhht.....Me! A Blues fanatic who would absolutely worship the ground that B.B. walks on if it were not against my faith and respect for God. Oh brother!!! "Low" isn't a good enough description for the way I feel about this, believe me. Well, in a way to perhaps make up for my terrible laps of love and respect for both the music AND one of it's all-time legends, Mr. B.B. King, I thought it would be nice to reserect one of my own blues songs. Soooooo, if you click on the URL at the bottom of this post, you will get to see my song written out in this very same forum sometime durring 1999. I dug it out of the Archives to honor this man who is an idol to me and many other fans of the Blues. It's not exactly a Christian song, but it IS a B.L. song.....with a sense of humor. This ones for you, B.B. (even though you would probably hate it because of the subject matter....), I luvya man!!! Enjoy!!!
