WARNING! Contains brief spoilers from the movie Signs... Dear Drifter, Interestingly enough, because it was a film by M. Night Shyamalan, I went to the theatre expecting to be thrown for some sort of loop, so I walked out of it pleasantly surprised that the loop I was thrown for was tied into the concepts of divine sovereignty and providence. Indeed, the alien invasion was merely a vehicle for telling a story about faith and I felt, for example, the double meaning behind the title of the movie was particularly brilliant – (crop) signs / signs (and miracles). In Christ, J Come away, O human child, to the waters of the wild, with a fairy hand in hand, for the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. A.I. |
