Hi Drifter,

He certainly has given you a big heart for people in need, brother. And He has provided you with the means to carry out your works for Him. There is so much need in the world. I praise God every time I meet someone who does God's work so diligently, faithfully.

But God has a whole lot of different children to work with, each one with a different kind of personality, temperment, psycological and mental capabilities, and educational background. Just like Joseph's coat, we are of many diferent "colors". And God has a diferent job for each of us. Some of us are toes (I relate to that one right now because my feet are killing me...ha ha ha), while others are hands or eyes or noses. We all belong to the Body, but we have diferent jobs to do. I think you are right when you say that sometimes we have our "jobs" placed right into our hands, and sometimes we do have to look. I just wonder if perhaps it might be more one way for some, and more the other way for others most of the time.

Here's another question. I wonder if it is best for a Christian to always look for God's work, regardless. Although I doubt most would have to look very far beyond thier own nieghborhoods and communities. To relate that with our love and concern for boys in particular, (and with our present prejudicial society of course....we can't forget about that part of the equation...), perhaps waiting on God isn't such a bad idea for some of us. Either way though, our work for God is ALWAYS very much appreciated by Him. And I think that, either way, He is just as strongly at work in all of our lives.

I agree with you, Drifter...it can come about either way. But I believe (and I think you will agree), that God's greatest work in the family of man is in the changing of our hearts. All other works lead up to just that.

Just my thoughts, bro. I love what you wrote!

Love in Jesus Christ,
Chris
