I have been in a similar situation with my current partner, where she made me choose between my yf & her. To have given her the boot, would've been worse for me.

Imagining the comments "he left me for a 12yo" don't look good on your CV.

Again I'm worried about what your ex-wife has told her, which may have worried her a lot. But if she knows that you are a good influence on the boy it could help.

Another idea. As you are helping him with his homework, maybe she will be more comfortable, with you seeing him at home in her company, so she could see for herself that nothing untoward is going on. Just a thought, I know its a hard suggestion for both you & D, but at least you'll still see each other while this thing blows over.
