Then perhaps I could agree with you. But it isnt, it seems like the New Testament is full of them. I wont begin quoting because Im sure you are familiar with the New Testament and you know that there are many "thief in the night" references. They are all over the New Testament, from the gospels to revelations, its one of the recurring themes. Why so much emphasis on being ready if we cannot lose our salvation? The verses I did post talked clearly about hell. It did not say anything about being held captive by sin, it spoke clearly of hell. It said cut those things from your life that cause you to stumble or risk being thrown in hell. There is simply no way to say this any clearer. You cant say something more clearer than it was said there, what else do you want him to say? "stop sinning or go to hell"?...thats what that says, it simply cant be clearer. Dont buy into these once saved always saved preachers. Trust in the bible, and the bible teaches us to be on guard for we never know when he will return (or when we die for that matter) and you dont want to be caught unprepared. love in Christ, Jesus |
