My father loves me

I know Ive never spoken about him before, mostly because Ive never given him any importance. Id always assumed he doesnt really love me, and so from an early age, I resigned myself not to care about him. But today, a phone call turned into an argument which turned into the first heart to heart man to man conversation I have ever had with him. If I didnt care about him all this time, why was it so hard not to cry when we were talking? I feel like its too late now, I needed him as a kid, not now. But from his point of view, he always did love me and he always did care and...well..Im rambling...Theres really no reason to post this here.
