Love in a general sense? I doubt it. He is giving us the meaning of TRUE LOVE.

Exactly which verse in 1 Corinthians 13 uses the phrase 'true love' as opposed to just 'love' (in a general sense and how we are to treat all people)? As I said before, the passage isn't specifically addressing the marriage relationship so it's no wonder sex isn't mentioned - we aren't suppose to love our neighbor by having sex with them...

...sex is not a prerequisite or requirement for Love to be present.

Where did I ever say it was? I'm combatting the nonsense belief here that sex and love are mutually exclusive, one comes from the flesh, one from the heart and never the two shall mix crap that's being thrown out here.

Yes He did, but that was before man and satan perverted what God intended.

What's that got to do with whether sex in and of itself is an expression of love between two people? Again, can we stay on topic here... Your position (and that of several posters here) reduced to its logical conclusion is that sex is merely an impulse of the flesh and has nothing to do with love. God intended the two to go hand in hand and in a twisted sort of way, it is you who are perverting God's intended design by separating the two so that sex has nothing to do with love. Think about it...

In Christ,
J

Come away, O human child,
to the waters of the wild,
with a fairy hand in hand,
for the world’s more full of weeping
than you can understand.
