I suspect in reality it doesn't work like that; most courts treat teenagers who commit crimes more leniently on the grounds that they don't have a fully developed appreciation of the consequences of their actions. On that logic, you should be in favour of the death penalty for teenagers... And our recent stories from Halo are a reminder of how little some kids are commited to their word.
