We are children to God. We are ignorant of the spiritual world as children are of the real world. However, because we should strive to be like a child, in innocence, and love, that does not mean that we ignore the fact that children need protection and boundaries. The same way we need protection and boundaries provided by God.

So, to the child that ranks above us in God's eyes, we are supposed to take the place of God, and of their wisdom?

When God told Abraham to kill Isaac, Abraham did not question if it was immoral or not, GOD was telling Him, and God defines morality, therefore it HAD to be the right thing to do.

As I recall, God differed. :)

When an adult that a child trusts leads that child to do something, that child believes that what they are doing is right.

If I might ask, how is this not a tragic and intrinsic outcome of a lesser being (adult) usurping the place of God?

Now don't go getting all literal on me, but this does seem to be pushing a point.

I'll only get literal as regards the term 'literal.' It derives from the same latin root as 'literature,' and means, more or less, 'of the book.'

The greek for book is 'Bible;' to translate from the latin to the greek, you are asking me to not get biblical upon you.

...if one wants to be literal about it. :)

To some, it might be considered 'pushing a point;' to others, it is remarkably important to afford others - ESPECIALLY those deprived - the full measure of equality, dignity, and respect that I would wish for myself... and to such, those who are afforded this in the least - children - must be given this first.

So, to such, it would be a severely important issue.
