Just because you do something out of what you think is love, doesn't mean that it is what is best for someone. ...and this cuts more ways than many who assert it might care to admit to themselves. Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. ::sigh:: Just to take a deep breath, and be an ass - ...so, anything you agree with is 'serving one another' - even if the party you inflict it on consider it a grevious and hateful wound - but anything you, personally, don't agree with is 'occasion to the flesh?' What of food? It serves nothing BUT the flesh, and since I am forced to acknowledge that you statistically (as caste) are incapable of making a responsible decision in such important matters, should we starve you? Don't worry - that we know and acknowledge that you are unfit to eat does not mean you are any less equal - just unfit and incompetent. "ALL things are lawful to me, but I will not be MASTERED by ANYTHING." 1 Corinthians 6:12 Has your insistance on God holding your prejudices mastered you? It has caused you to equivocate - fallaciously and entirely on your own - loving service for one's fellow being to the clubbing of seals. It has caused you to interrogate my parroting of Jesus' message, His teaching, and His purpouse as though I were He. It has caused you to equivocate the following of His teaching - loving service to our fellow being - with MURDER, simply because that which YOU hold to be unclean is not explicitly unclean unto all... and some had the audacity to suggest that God welcomes them without YOUR judgements. It has caused you to deny that the least among us are greatest. PERHAPS you have done all this out of love... but just because you do something out of love, doesn't mean that it is best for someone. |
