The King boys

I just read that the King boys pleaded guilty to 3rd degree murder and were given 7 and 8 years respectively, so they'll get out when they are 22 I believe. This really isn't on topic for this board, but I noticed there was quite a discussion going on earlier after the first conviction, which was thrown out. (I still don't understand that little legal manuever) I was wondering if anyone had any comments or have changed their opinion now that the boys have admitted to it? I think 7 or 8 years isn't much for beating a man do death with a baseball bat and then setting the house on fire. I could understand such a sentence if a killing is not intentional, like a dui death or negligence. But it's hard to think of a man's life as only being worth 7 or 8 years. Need I mention that child molesters get stiffer sentences? Wouldn't it be ironic if the guy who was having consensual sex with the younger King boy got more prison time than the murderers? Comments?
