First off, I'm glad your treatment is going well, and I continue to pray for you. Back to the subject at hand, I see many pros and cons with this scenario. While it would be great that our story be told, that it be more widely known that not all pedophiles are monsters and that we are capable of actually contributing to society, that it be known that there are many people afflicted with these feelings; it also cold be detrimental to open up this place to such scrutiny. Truth be told, I really don't have much experience in the matter, as I am only a member of a month or two here. That it would be introduced to the psychological community is better than the general community. Simply because people of the psychological persuasion understand that there are such things that people feel that they cannot help. "Big Picture" speaking, I think it would probably do more good than bad. As long as anonymity is not compromised I believe that the more people that are aware of us, the better. We are in such a dire situation with our identity because of society ignoring this issue for far too long. Especially from a Christian point of view. |
