Hi Questioner,

Thank you for your encouragement, brother. Indeed it is a bad problem, but here is where I find myself needing to rely on prayer more than any kind of help I can give. The boy's mom has the final say in anything that goes on in his life. You are right, she is in denial badly. But while I can stick my kneck out to try and get her to do something, or at least to listen to reason, it is entirely up to her to actually do something for him. I am "only" an interested and concerned friend, and still just an outsider in her eyes.

However, when a head-on attack doesn't work, sometimes persuasion is the best thing. In this case, subtle persuasion will be the thing. But I will not give up on my first line of work in thier lives, which is prayer. You know, prayer IS always our first and best work as children of God. Some people tend to reach out to God in prayer as a last resort, or a half-hearted effort at best, not really expecting an answer when they go to the Father. I know because I used to be that way and I am still learning about prayer. I am in no way perfect but I have learned to keep putting prayer first on the priority list. Not only that, but I have learned beyond doubt that God always answers every prayer that reach His ears.....and they all reach His ears. Sometimes the answers aren't what we expect, and most often they come at times we do not expect, but indeed our Father answers everything we ask of Him.

Anyway, thank you for your concern and support, brother. I will let you know how things are going. God bless!

Love in Christ Jesus,
Chris
